For HANG AROUND, Vanesa Ateliers presented a selection of sculptural handbags as objects positioned between function, body and identity.
The participation continued one of the central ideas behind the brand: the bag is never simply an accessory. It exists in constant physical contact with the body, becomes part of our outward presence, yet carries what remains private and unseen. It occupies the boundary between the inner and the outer.
Placed within the exhibition space, the bags were temporarily removed from their usual function. Without the body to complete them, their proportions, structures and sculptural character became more visible. They could be read not only as objects to be carried, but as forms with their own presence.
This relationship between object and identity lies at the core of Vanesa Ateliers. Each piece begins with a concept and develops through form, material and handcraft rather than through the repetition of an already familiar visual language.
The brand does not aim to create objects for everyone, but objects with a distinct point of view — intended to meet people who already possess one of their own.
Within HANG AROUND, this philosophy entered a wider dialogue with experimental fashion, material research and the shifting boundaries between design and art.
The bag defines the boundary between the inner and the outer.
It is your identity.
